Sarteano Choral Workshop Faculty

Spending time in Sarteano each summer with fantastic musicians from all over the world has been a life-changing experience for me as an educator. Come and study conducting and vocal techniques with a renowned faculty in a positive and supportive environment that will challenge and inspire you. Besides making incredible music together, you will meet amazing people and forge lifelong friendships, all in a beautiful Tuscan town.

Dr. Tony Thornton- Artistic Director

My 20 years of teaching and music-making at Sarteano are unforgettable. Glorious music, wonderful people, beautiful surroundings in a friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere. Onward to 2026!

Simon Carrington- Professor Emeritus Yale University

The Workshop offers a welcoming community for reflection and artistic renewal, and a special place for choral artists to meet each summer. I look forward every year to being part of this community where singer-teachers turn attention toward their own instruments—refining technique, deepening artistry, and engaging in the kind of collaborative music-making that reminds us why we sing!
