Application Information

General Information

Singers will audition for the Festival Singers program by video submission. Because space is limited, no more than fifty singers will be selected, so early submission is strongly encouraged. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all ensemble positions have been filled. The final application deadline is January 15, 2027.

Application does not guarantee acceptance. Each decision will be made with careful consideration of individual artistry and the overall needs of the ensemble. Audition results will be communicated as soon as possible after materials are received; in some cases, a decision may be deferred to maintain a balanced ensemble. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. To ensure delivery, please allow emails from choralplanet@gmail.com.

Applicants are encouraged to invite other fine musicians—especially those in different voice parts—to apply, helping ensure an excellent ensemble balance. For example, you may wish to gather an SATB quartet from among your musical colleagues. Not only will it be rewarding to spend the week making music with friends you already know, but you’ll also have the convenience of built-in roommates and shared travel companions. However, each singer must audition and apply individually.

Application Video Requirements: Review Carefully Before Submitting

Previously submitted videos may not be reused. Application videos must be newly recorded for the current application cycle and must begin with the singer stating their name, the title of the piece, and the composer. Applications will remain incomplete until a video meeting these requirements is received.

Record yourself singing a folk song, hymn, art song, operatic aria, or your voice part from a classical choral work, performed either with or without accompaniment. You may record the video with your phone. 

Once you have completed the recording, you will have two options for submitting the video in the application: 1) paste a link to your recording, or 2) email your video directly to choralplanet@gmail.com.
